

The aim of this course is to enable delegates to select the overhead crane and lifting accessories and plan lifting operations in accordance with current legislation. It is recommended that prior to attending this course individuals should obtain a copy of BS7121 part 1 plus BS.5744 and a copy of LOLER 98 ACoP. Tighten as needed.This is a bespoke course and is aimed at companies who currently plan safe systems of work using lifting equipment. Inspect external covers for loose screws, bolts or nuts.Verify electrical control functions work correctly.Latch gate must close tightly on hook, replace as needed Verify latch is working correctly on hook.Measuring latch hook openings, replace hook when opening is greater than 1”.Maintenance will perform their weekly PM on all electric hoists which include:.All functional operating mechanisms for excessive wear of components.Visual inspection of hoist chains for excessive wear, twist, or distorted links that would interfere with proper function or stretch beyond the manufacturer’s recommendation.Visual inspection of hooks for deformation or cracks.


The hoist shall not be loaded beyond its rated load capacity.Only designated personnel will be allowed to operate overhead and gantry cranes.General requirements for operating equipment.
